Changing my eating lifestyle has lead me to experiment with foods attempting to find healthier alternatives. I have been using this seasoning to satisfy my cravings for Chorizo.
Seasoning Ingredients:
2 tbs. Cumin
1/2 tsp. Ground Cloves
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Oregano
1 tsp. Thyme
2 tbs. Garlic Powder
2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
2 tbs. Paprika Powder
1 tbs. Cayenne Powder
2 tbs. Red Chili Powder
1 tbs. Crushed Red Peppers
(Optional chili powders I use when I have them available are Ancho Chili powder and Smoked Paprika.) Feel free to add more or less of your chili powders or make it extra spicy with some Ghost Chili.

Throw in all ingredients in a mason jar and SHAKE! That is it! Now that was easy, wasn't it? You can have this premade and use when ready to make your chorizo.

I use about 2-3 tbs. of seasoning mix per pound. I usually use ground turkey and mix in 1 table spoon at a time. (add to taste)
Ideas: Ground Chicken works great too! You can season diced sautéed potatoes as well for chorizo con papas. Add your favorite ingredients when making your chorizo such as chives, cheese, top off with Greek yogurt, sour cream, etc.
